After spending 23 years in the military and then working as an engineering consultant for another 10 years, I was ready to retire. Retirement didn't last long. I got bored of reading and started several different crafts until I fell in love with leather! The smell of leather. The feel of leather. It's a wonderful thing to wake up to every morning! So, I invested in WAY too much in leather working tools and realized I should learn enough about the craft to pay for all these tools! Thus, Kimberlin Design began in the spring of 2014.
This black leather bracelet was my very first attempt at tooling leather. I was excited that my stamps lined up! Of course, I practiced first on scrap leather. I used a Tandy Leather plastic grid for spacing my stamps. Then I stained the bracelet coal black and finished it with hand rubbed paste wax.
